Talking Stick Resort Arena a Finalist for Arena Of The Year
Talking Stick Resort Arena has been named a finalist for Venue of the Year by the International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA). The winner will be revealed on Tuesday, October 13 at the 45th annual IEBA Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The Honors & Awards Ceremony, held in the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, is slated to begin at 8 p.m CST.
In the past year alone, Talking Stick Resort Arena (formerly US Airways Center) has played host to a number of noteworthy concerts and events, including Ariana Grande, U2, Paul McCartney, Enrique Iglesias & Pitbull, UFC on FOX and Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley & Florida Georgia Line. The arena, which opened in 1992, hosts an average of 130 events each year with a collective annual audience of one million people. The arena is also home to the Phoenix Suns, three-time WNBA world champion Phoenix Mercury, and the five-time arena football world champion Arizona Rattlers.
The five other nominees for the award are Allstate Arena (Rosemont, Ill.), BOK Center (Tulsa, Okla.), Bridgestone Arena (Nashville, Tenn.), The Forum (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Philips Arena (Atlanta, Ga.).
